4 fighters in 4 years crash in MP
In 2021, Miraj crashed in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh. Questions were also raised in Parliament about this incident. In 2023, two aircraft crashed in Morena, Madhya Pradesh. One was Sukhoi and the other was of Mirage. In this accident, the pilot also lost his life.
Now in 2025, the fighter jet became a fireball in the air in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. However, pilots and co-pilots survived safely in this accident. Both are being treated in Gwalior’s hospital.
It is being said that now the Air Force of the entire accident will be done by the Court of Inquiry. After this, the real causes of the accident will be known.
Why the fighter plane is becoming a fireball?
In December 2024, a detailed report has been prepared by the Parliamentary Committee on Defense Affairs. In this report, the report of all accidents from 2017 to 2022 has been attached. The report said that the Air Force has ascertained the reasons and has also taken appropriate action.
According to the report, a major cause of the accident is Human Err (human mistake). The Defense Department has also divided this mistake into two parts. Under this, a mistake is divided into service and an air crew.
About 60 percent of the accident occurred due to human mistake. By 2017-2022, 19 accidents occurred due to the human mistake of the pilot sitting on the aircraft. At the same time, a plane became a fireball due to the human error of the service department.
20 percent of accidents occurred due to technical reasons. What were technical reasons were not mentioned in the report of the Parliamentary Committee. An accident happened due to the bird. At the same time, the fighter jet fell down due to external damage.
In 2019, advocate Alakh Alok filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the judicial inquiry into the incident of fighter jet, which was rejected, the then Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that we are using 3 or 3.5 generations of Miraj. It is sure to crash.
That is, the old aircraft is also a reason for the accident. However, no comments are made so far at the government or defense level.
Not only this, the CAG also underlined the aircraft and lack of engineers in its 2015 report. The CAG said that they do not have as many aircraft they need.
