Bilaspur. Collector Avneesh Sharan held a meeting with officials and reviewed the progress of the paddy procurement campaign. He said that paddy procurement centers should not be closed under any circumstances. Paddy lifting work should be expedited at the Centre. He expressed his displeasure at the District Marketing Officer over the current slow progress. According to the current report, only about 10 percent of the total purchase has been lifted. It was told that 2.36 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in the district. There is no problem in any work like availability of gunny bags, payment, weighing etc. 133 millers have registered for custom milling in the district. Of these, only 48 millers have started lifting from the committees. The Collector has given strict instructions to all the registered millers for lifting. District Food Officer Anurag Bhadauria, Deputy Commissioner Cooperative Anju Pandey, DMO Shambhu Kumar Gupta, CEO District Cooperative Bank Sunil Sodhi, Deputy Director Agriculture D Hatheshwar, GM Tiwari of Nan were present in the meeting.
