Gwalior: Railways is continuously expanding its services in Madhya Pradesh. Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, world class railway stations are being constructed in all major cities, along with this, Vande Bharat trains are also coming as a new gift for the passengers. Presently Vande Bharat train is operating between Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Khajuraho and Delhi, and now there is a possibility of operating this train between Gwalior and Indore also.
Traveling between Gwalior-Indore challenging for passengers
Traveling between Gwalior-Indore is a challenging task for the passengers. Every month lakhs of devotees visit Ujjain to visit Mahakaleshwar, but only two major routes are available to reach Ujjain from Gwalior. One of these is from Gwalior to Indore, while the other is from Gwalior to Ujjain via Bhopal. This journey proves to be very long and tiring for the passengers.
Railway Minister assured to conduct the survey soon
Keeping in mind the difficulties being faced by the pilgrims and devotees, Gwalior MP Bharat Singh Kushwaha has taken an important step. He met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in Delhi on Tuesday and demanded to run Vande Bharat Express train from Gwalior to Indore on Mahakal Ujjain route. It is a positive news for the residents of this area that the Railway Minister has assured to conduct a traffic survey for the operation of Vande Bharat Express train on the Gwalior to Ujjain via Indore route. This information has been shared by the Gwalior MP himself.
Apart from this, Bharat Singh Kushwaha had earlier also raised this demand in Parliament. During his address in the Lok Sabha, he raised this issue before Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Now from their recent meeting it is clear that they are making serious efforts to start this important service, which will provide travel convenience to the people of the area.
Passengers have to wait a long time
Gwalior MP Bharat Singh Kushwaha said, “Every month lakhs of devotees go to Ujjain from our area to visit Mahakal, but due to limited train services between Gwalior and Indore, there is difficulty in reservation. Due to this, passengers face problems in reaching Ujjain. If Vande Bharat train starts running from Gwalior to Ujjain, then the travel time will also be reduced. I met Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav and presented a demand letter. He has assured to conduct a traffic survey on the Gwalior-Indore route. If this work is completed, it will be an important achievement for our region.”
