Festivals in many districts stopped due to negligence of tourism department…
Bhopal . With the aim of giving a new experience to the tourists, MP Tourism Board organizes a festival at many places at the end of the year. This year, these festivals are going on in Gandhisagar and Chanderi, but Hanuwantiya Water Festival and Mandu Festival, which are organized every year, will not happen this year.
Stopped for the first time in seven years… Tamia and Orchha festivals also stopped
Recently, MP Tourism Board had floated tenders for Mandu, Hanuwantiya, Orchha and Tamia, but due to delay in departmental preparations and no specific tender being received, the festival will not be held at these four places this year. This is the second consecutive year that the festival will not be held in Mandu, while this will be the first time in the last 7 years in Hanuwantiya, when the Jal Mahotsav will not be held, whereas this was the first festival of the Tourism Department, whose tent city created a distinct identity in the country. And during the festival many tourists from many states of the country used to reach here. Even the Chief Minister of the state has been coming here every year with his family to enjoy the tent city. The best time for the festival is from November to January, but now more than half of December has passed, so it is not possible to organize the festival now. However, officials are avoiding giving any official statement in the matter. There was a better response in Mandu too, but like last year, the festival will not be held here this year too.
Festivals going on in Gandhisagar and Chanderi
At present, festivals are being held in Gandhisagar and Chanderi only, which will now run for three consecutive months along with the tent city. Every week a big and different event is being organized for the tourists coming here. This includes music concerts as well as sports activities like heritage walk, DJ night.
