Destination management companies of Andaman appealed to all the travel agents of the country not to make bookings between 24 December and 3 January.

For the first time, maximum number of tourists are reaching Andaman Island of the country to celebrate the New Year, due to which it is completely packed and Destination Management Companies (DMC) which provide various facilities to the tourists from hotels to tours etc. Has mailed to all the agents and appealed not to make any booking between 24th December and 3rd January.
Secretary of Travel Agents Federation of India, Amol Kataria said that Andaman has always been the choice of tourists for New Year celebrations. But this is happening for the first time when all the hotels here are packed and DMC has sent messages and mails to the agents and appealed not to make bookings. This has never been seen before. He told that Andaman is the choice of tourists on New Year for its beautiful beaches, sunset and pleasant weather even during winter. He told that to reach here, tourists from Indore take a flight to Port Blair via Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai or Mumbai. On normal days, the to and fro flight fare here is up to Rs 25 thousand, which is now around Rs 30 thousand. Here a couple’s package of four nights and five days costs around Rs 1 lakh, due to the new year its price is also higher. Here, the Cellular Jail, where the freedom fighters were sent by the British during the punishment of Kalapani, is also a center of attraction for tourists.
Goa and Kashmir have the highest demand
Kataria said that like every time, Goa is in great demand to celebrate New Year in the country. Also, this time there is a lot of enthusiasm among tourists to see the snowfall in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Also, like every time, Kerala is also being liked a lot. When it comes to international tourism, European countries including UAE, Singapore, Thailand are on top in the list of people.
20 percent less tourism compared to previous years due to expensive tour packages
Kataria said that this time, considering the increase in domestic and international demand, the airlines have increased their fares considerably. Due to this, tour packages have become more expensive than before. Due to expensive packages, this time the number of tourists visiting on New Year has decreased by 15 to 20 percent as compared to previous years.
