Bhopal: The prestigious Kalinga Safety Excellence Award 2023 of the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services and Institute of Public Enterprises was given to Singaji Thermal Power Project of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company at a function organized in Bhubaneswar. Safety Officers Shailesh Chauhan and Wilson Joy Lakra received this award on behalf of Singaji Thermal Power Station.
This award has been given to the power plant in the Large Scale Enterprises Major Industry category. This internationally prestigious award is given in recognition of the achievement of high standards in the field of safety and employee health in industries. For this, evaluation was done on the clear criteria of employee safety and health, clean technology, waste disposal, reduction in water consumption etc. The objective of the award is to raise the level of safety management and awareness in industries. It is noteworthy that Singaji Thermal Power Project successfully completed all the safety related criteria set for the award. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar and Additional Chief Secretary Energy Neeraj Mandloi congratulated all the engineers and personnel of Singaji Thermal Power Project for this achievement.
The award ceremony was attended by Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Kanakavardhan Singhdev, Lesotho’s High Commissioner Lebohang Valentinave Mochaba, People’s Republic of China’s Deputy Consul General Yong Qin, Switzerland’s Dr. S. ETH Mark Fuellmann and Germany’s Prof. Many technical experts from India and abroad including Karl-Heinz Noetel were present. Apart from Singaji Thermal Power Project, prestigious institutions like NTPC, IOCL, Tata Motors etc. were also awarded in various categories in the programme.
Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company, Manjit Singh said that Singaji Thermal Power Station has achieved success in maintaining the highest standards of safety and as a result, this award was given to Singaji Thermal Power Project for this excellent achievement. . He said that this award recognizes his continuous dedication towards setting new standards in safety standards within power projects with an unwavering commitment towards promoting a culture of safety.
