Korba, State Commerce, Industry and Labor Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan transferred an amount of Rs 48.82 crore online through DBT to the direct accounts of 66,952 laborers of the state and their families in his residence office in Shankarnagar, Raipur. On this occasion, Secretary cum Labor Commissioner Mrs. Alarmelmangai D., Additional Commissioner Labor S.L. Workers including Jangde were present.
Cabinet Minister Shri Dewangan said that under Vishnudev’s government, the workers of the state and their family members are continuously getting the benefits of the schemes. Successful implementation of schemes is being done through the three divisions of Labor Department, Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Board, Organized Workers State Social Security Board and Labor Welfare Board. The result of this is that from January to November 2024, Rs 334.28 crore has been transferred to 46.59 lakh workers through various schemes. The Cabinet Minister said that Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai invited leading industrialists and investors of the country to invest in Chhattisgarh in the Investors Connect Meet organized in New Delhi.
The Cabinet Minister said that more than Rs 252 crore was distributed by Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to a total of 10 lakh 88 thousand workers from January 1, 2024 to December 23, 2024. On December 24, an amount of more than Rs 37 crore is being distributed to 59,738 workers. More than Rs 75 crore was distributed by the Unorganized Workers’ Board to a total of 43,703 workers from January 1, 2024 to December 23, 2024. On December 24, an amount of more than Rs 7 crore 90 lakh is being distributed to 5165 workers. Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has provided free registration cards to a total of 3,88,238 construction workers under the Chief Minister Construction Workers Free Card Scheme.
Cabinet Minister Shri Dewangan said that more than Rs 2,38,000,00 was distributed by Chhattisgarh Labor Welfare Board to a total of 4,916 workers from January 01, 2024 to December 23, 2024. On December 24, an amount of more than Rs 1 crore 01 lakh is being distributed to 2049 workers. Thus, Rs 48,82,00,00 lakh is being released to 66,952 workers. Thus, from January 1, 2024 to December 24, an amount of more than Rs 375 crore has been distributed to more than 12 lakh 4 thousand workers registered in all three divisions.
Officials of the department said that under Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, 27,72,00,00 thousand workers, Unorganized Workers Board 18,47,000, Chhattisgarh Labor Welfare Board 5,10,000, thus the total registered beneficiary workers is more than 51,29,000. .
Secretary Labor Mrs. Alarmel Mangai told during the welcome address that many schemes are being run for the welfare of workers in the state. The workers and their families are getting their benefits. A provision of scholarship has been made for the education of children of registered workers. Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Annapurna Anna Yojana is being operated to provide food to the workers at affordable rates.
