Bhopal: In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the waiting teachers of class one marched in prostration from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station to the Directorate of Public Instruction, demanding increase in their posts. Their demand is that 20 thousand posts should be increased for higher secondary teachers under Class-1 in 2023. Teachers who arrived in Bhopal from different districts reached the Directorate of Public Instruction while performing the Dandavat Yatra. The waiting teachers said that a large number of students appeared for the examination but recruitment was done only on 3 thousand posts. 45 percent posts in Category 1 roster are backlogged. The number of new posts is less, hence 20 thousand posts should be increased.
Every time I got only assurance
The candidates said that we protested several times but every time we got only assurances. That’s why we are doing Dandavat Yatra so that the government listens to us. The woman participating in the protest said that we do not want money but employment under Ladli Behan Scheme.
Candidates are not getting selected despite getting good marks
They allege that despite getting good marks, candidates are not being selected, due to which we are facing financial crisis. He says that despite there being a large number of vacancies, they are not being filled through the recruitment process. It was revealed that the 3000 posts for which the government had announced recruitment were also 2018 posts. We had given the exam in 2023, but 2 years are about to complete and till now there is no way of appointment.
