Raipur: Chhattisgarh Police receiving ‘President’s Colour’ award, a symbol of their hard work, bravery and dedication. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah today presented ‘President’s Colour’ to Chhattisgarh Police in Raipur on the first day of his Chhattisgarh tour. On this occasion, many dignitaries including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present.
In his address, Amit Shah said that receiving the President’s Mark is a matter of great pride for any armed force and within a short period of 25 years of its establishment, Chhattisgarh Police has received this honor by winning the trust of the President. He said that Chhattisgarh Police is one of the best police forces in the country with its passion, bravery and dedication.
The Home Minister said that being honored with the President’s Mark as it enters the 25th year of its establishment is indicative of the hard work, dedication, bravery and affection of the Chhattisgarh Police for the public. He said that Chhattisgarh Police is serving the people of the state with distinction, commitment, bravery and dedication. He said that Chhattisgarh Police has always been at the forefront in its efforts to strengthen law and order, Naxalism-free and drug-free India campaign, public safety and making life easier for the citizens.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that today is the death anniversary of Sardar Patel ji. He said that Sardar Saheb’s indomitable courage and determination worked to unite this country. Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed the unfinished work of Sardar Saheb and by abolishing Article 370, Kashmir was forever connected with India. He said that today the entire country is paying tribute to Sardar Saheb with gratitude.
Amit Shah said that the demand for formation of Chhattisgarh that had been pending for decades was fulfilled by Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. The Home Minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Chhattisgarh will be completely freed from Naxalism before March 31, 2026. He said that the Modi government is committed to freeing Chhattisgarh as well as other states of the country from Naxalism. He said that Chhattisgarh Police is moving bravely towards the achievement of this resolve and has made many achievements in the fight against Naxalism in the last one year.
The Union Home Minister said that in the last one year under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, in the fight against Naxalism, the security forces have neutralized 287 Naxalites, arrested 1000 and 837 Naxalites have surrendered. He said that the killed Naxalites included 14 top Naxalites. He said that due to the strict policy of the Modi government against Naxalism, for the first time in 4 decades the death toll of civilians and security forces has come below 100. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Naxalism has been curbed in the last 10 years due to which the deaths of security forces have reduced by 73% and deaths of civilians have reduced by 70% as compared to the previous 10 years. He said that Chhattisgarh Police, along with other security forces, has delivered the final blow to Naxalism in the last one year. He said that many development works have been done in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Amit Shah said that the first President’s mark was given to the Indian Navy in 1951 and today to get this mark any armed force has to serve for 25 years. He also thanked Madam President of India for honoring the 25 years of service, dedication, sacrifice and sacrifice of Chhattisgarh Police.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Central Government and the State Government are committed to the complete elimination of Naxalism from Chhattisgarh before March 31, 2026. The Home Minister appealed to the Naxalites to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream of society, move forward on the path of development and contribute to the development of Chhattisgarh. He said that the Chhattisgarh government has made a very good surrender policy in which arrangements have been made for the rehabilitation of every Naxalite after surrender.
Amit Shah said that Chhattisgarh Police has achieved great successes by working with determination against organized crimes and narcotics. He said that from January 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024, 1100 cases of narcotics have been registered, 21 thousand kilograms of ganja, 6 thousand kilograms of opium and about 1 lakh 95 thousand narcotic pills have been seized and in these cases 1400 people have been arrested. He said that Chhattisgarh has also been at the forefront in the use of PITNDPS.
The Union Home Minister expressed confidence that every soldier of Chhattisgarh Police will have a huge contribution in fulfilling the resolve of a developed Chhattisgarh and developed Bastar. He said that Chhattisgarh’s huge contribution in building a developed India by Prime Minister Modi by 2047 will also be mentioned in golden letters.
The Home Minister told the Chhattisgarh Police personnel that the President’s Color is not just a decoration, but it is a symbol of service, renunciation and sacrifice. He said that this mark is a reminder of the countless challenges that have to be faced with determination. Shah said that along with being a decoration, the President’s Color is also a responsibility and every soldier of Chhattisgarh Police will fulfill this responsibility and will not step back even a step in performing his duty.
